For Airlines & Rental Cars
Yes, you will always get loyalty points for Airlines and Rental Car bookings on ITILITE.
For Hotels
Getting loyalty points for hotels solely depends on the policy of the hotel since they have restrictions on third-party bookings. You will only be able to get loyalty points for bookings where the loyalty point tag is being shown.
1) Why I will not get loyalty benefits?
- We have sourced the special inventory which allows you too book the room at a discounted/cheaper rate. Typically sourced from Priceline, Agoda, Booking.com. As these are not the direct bookings, hotels don’t provide loyalty benefits for this
2) Do we get benefits or nights on these bookings?
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that a partner booking with Priceline for a Marriott property will earn Marriott Bonvoy points or count towards elite status. Here’s why:
- Third-party bookings often don’t qualify: Marriott Bonvoy generally awards points and elite night credits for bookings made directly through GDS or retail rates.
- Contractual agreements: Hotels have agreements with third-party booking sites that sometimes restrict the awarding of loyalty benefits. This is often done to encourage direct bookings.
- Varying policies: While the general rule is no points/nights for third-party bookings, there might be rare exceptions or special promotions. However, these are not common.
Regarding upgrades and other benefits:
- Elite status recognition: Even if you have Marriott Bonvoy elite status, it’s unlikely to be recognized when booking through Priceline. Hotels typically prioritize upgrades and other perks for guests who booked directly.
- Hotel discretion: In some cases, a hotel might be willing to extend some benefits to a guest who booked through a third party, but this is entirely at their discretion and not guaranteed.
