Plans change, whether your meeting ran long, your flight was delayed, or you simply need a larger vehicle. As an ITILITE user, you can modify your rental car bookings directly through the platform. This article will help you understand which bookings are eligible for modification and how to make changes.
Who can modify?
The Trip Creator: Only the person who originally created the trip/booking can make a modification.
When can you modify?
- Before Pickup: Online modifications on the ITILITE platform are available up to 6 hours before your scheduled pickup time, for all car rental bookings.
- Manual Support: If you are within 6 hours of pickup or have already picked up the vehicle, please contact our Support Team for assistance with any modifications.
What can be modified?
- Dates and Times: Adjust your pickup or drop-off schedule.
- Locations: Change your pickup or return location.
- Car Category: Upgrade or change your vehicle type.
- Flight Details & Traveler Info: Update the primary driver’s phone number or email address, or flight arrival information
- Membership Details: Add or update your personal membership details with the car rental agency.
How to Modify Your Car Rental
- Go to your Dashboard and locate the trip you wish to change.
- Click Modify on the car rental booking voucher, or select Modify car from the Quick Actions menu.
- On the Edit Trip page, adjust your dates, times, or locations as needed and proceed to search for available cars.
- Choose your preferred car from the search results (your original booking details and price will be displayed for easy comparison).
- Proceed to the confirmation page, and review the final price (note any increase or decrease compared to your original booking).
- Once you confirm, ITILITE will process the modification online and send you a confirmation email with your latest booking voucher(s).
Note: If your modification requires a new booking, ITILITE will automatically cancel your previous booking in the background.
Are there fees for modifying a car rental?
No, modifying your car rental booking on ITILITE is free, since most US-based car rental bookings are “Pay at Pickup” with no extra charges for modifying or canceling them. However, the total cost of your rental may increase or decrease based on current market rates for your selected dates, locations and car category.
Can I modify a booking multiple times?
Yes. You can modify a booking as many times as needed, provided you are still more than 6 hours away from the pickup time.
Important Restrictions
- Primary Driver Identity: You cannot change the Name or Date of Birth of the primary driver once a booking is confirmed.
- Corporate Rates: Bookings with specific corporate deal codes or billing IDs may not allow online modifications for personal membership details.
