How it started
The idea for Iris didn’t come from a whiteboard session – it came from customers.
I remember speaking to a travel manager planning an offsite. She had 120 people flying in on different flights, across different days. She told me: “I wish someone could just tell me who’s landing when. I don’t have time to look through all bookings”
She sounded exhausted. And this was just transportation logistics, not even the actual travel planning.
That insight stayed with me : companies don’t always lack data. They lack an easy way to get answers when they need them.
How customers are using it
During beta run with customers, we’ve seen use cases we hadn’t imagined:
- A finance leader asked: *”Show me hotels booked without corporate rates in Austin in Q3.”* Iris found $47K in leakage instantly.
- One customer started with *”How can I save on my travel program?”* and kept digging. Three questions later, they’d identified a pattern: their most frequent travelers weren’t using preferred vendors.
The pattern we’re seeing? People start with one question, then another, then another. Because finally, asking is easier than searching.
We are discovering new use cases every day and Iris is getting smarter not just from the data but from all the insights our account managers build with customers to improve their travel programs. This is really an area where AI is making a 10x better experience
What next
